Am already a week overdue....in posting this blog i mean. Diwali was meant to be at home as is customary...which translated into customary movie watching as well. So OSO it was on the day of the release and the slow n unsteady SLB's torturiya on the other.
OSO
As a true once-upon-a-time-hardcore-SRK-fan (the pre KANK days), i decided to enjoy the movie come what may.....and i did. Forget the wrinkles, the all-too-familiar tilt of the head and the maa ka pyar dialogues (which the film makers themselves qualify as an overdose). FK n SRKlollu sabha to the next level making it come a complete circle - OSO is all about spoofing films and themselves. No claims of it being a timeless classic or the likes. no pretenses. plus the badshah's 6 packs....complete paisa vasool and super entertainment
The doosra n the bakra...
I had to watch it knowing fully well what (not) to expect. The amazing twist happened before the actual movie though - we got balcony tickets 20mins before the show on the 2nd day (that the theater was melody can be safely ignored to exaggerate the point). The film's biggest plus is the lead pair and the music to an extent. If only there was a semblance of story telling at bearable pace...if only rani was replaced by someone who's actually young......if only sallu bhai hadn't applied kaajal.....if only SLB would tell us which era the story was set in.......if only melody did not attract 3 generations of families from mint that had seats next to ours......
