After hours of choreography and practice, the day finally came and how?! The excitement started on thurs evng (Countdown begins)2 days to go - when for the first time ever in the history of the *Lex jigs* (thats my name for our dance group) all the 7 of us had gathered for a practice...by the time we had kinda gotten a lil used to the idea that it was a medley & we had to have a lot of coordination and sync, it was past midnight.. all that we seemed to have achieved in that time was a lot of anxiety over how we were goin to perform on stage & muscular aches, not to mention attracting a couple of curious LTCA members (who were tryin hard to figure out what we were upto)....
one day to go - fri evng - a night away from the D day..- by this time, the adrenaline rush had started, & i had already gotten used to the idea that whatever mistakes we all were committing (in the dance moves)so far, was bound to find its way right into the final performance....so much for my optimism (hey atleast am practical)..amidst all the hustle-bustle of the stage set up, sound/light arrangements and other such activities, the lex jigs managed to religiously go in for 5 continuous drills oops practices...slowly my confidence levels edged toward a new high... (almost up the half-way mark)..by half-past midnight, i was all set with my *A.S.S* (attitude, smile & sing) theory - my version of a pep talk...i continued in full swing while the others nodded/yawned (a few even had that glazed look) & appeared to look interested while all that they cud really think of was a mattress n a pillow to rest on....
15th october - the day when we finally got on stage to perform for a sizeable crowd, with all our enthusiasm and spirit - & of course our new costumes (which most of us promptly returned to the store the very next day :D)as xpected urs truly kept up the tradition & missed out a particular move (im jinxed i tell u )- which fortunately no one bothered to point out....
we finished in style (or so i'd like to think) & bowed to thunderous applause (guess it was the echo)- a moment worth living for - worth havin spent all those endless dance sessions of tryin to get the steps right & in sync....truly, a very memorable experience....
