Long tresses adorned with fresh jasmine flowers, forehead smeared with vermillon, a simple cotton salwar to complete the image - "a traditional girl" they observed...- a judgement passed with no objections raised whatsoever...
Chewing gum furiously, sporting a low rise jeans & a tshirt (with the words "mental inside" written on it) the dame with the "im-a-kabirbedi-look-alike" hair-do squeezed her way through a couple of disapproving eyes - "what has the world come to?" they seemed to say...
He wore crisp khaki trousers, neatly pressed (by the ever-available road-side mobile laundry man), a designer-labelled white formal shirt & sleek hush puppies to go with it - the security guy at the gate stood up to attention and gave a salute, convinced of the man's impeccable intellectual and occupational accomplishments.....
& it goes on......

what else u think will happen? hope u know the story of ishwara chandra vidya sagar, who once happened to attend a function with his traditional dhothi but was not let in. He went back to arrive in his western outfit and was eventually allowed in with due respect. He, at his dinner table left his western dress to have the food and escaped out, of course wearing his normal dhothi and shirt)
im not expecting anything to happen - was pondering at how quite a few of us refuse to look beyond the facade ....
but yeah semma idea ithu..en blog kulla unnoda blog pottuta..;)
