Top of the world! - literally...

whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! how does it feel to be lofted high up on a mini-flight cramped with 5 xcited wud-be-divers strapped to his/her instructor with a not-so-strong-looking harness; taken to a height of 14000 feet (oh yeah they gave us altimeters); edge to the exit while bracing yourself & then plunge while you do a classic imitation of the *matrix* arching? the answer is @$#%$#%^%$^%$&#&^$.....

honestly, i dont have a single word to xplain what i felt when i did just that over the weekend near milwaukee...(it vas no where near windy city -the way a dear verizon buddy had promised it would be)

the 'free fall' (mind you it just means that the fall is tuned to gravity & has nothin to do with the pricing, which btw is *sky* high) from 14k to 5k in <60 secs caught me totally by surprise - i ve experienced nothin of this sort ever b4 (no wait a min, the plunge into the atlantic ocean when another trustworthy friend let go of the jet ski controls can come a close second); the random change in pressure, the chill wind at such an altitude, the view of lake michigan & the vast xpanse of greenery right below, the force of the wind hitting against the face (v vere given goggles), the heavy gasping to breathe in air at a normal pace, the parallel positioning of my body to the ground faaaaaaaaaaaar below, the adrenaline rush while xperiencing all of these at the pace at which i did...WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - out of the world.....

the smooth sailin after reaching an altitude of 5K made possible by the parachute strapped to my instructor allowed my system to return to a normal...- heartbeat, pulse, breathin, blocked ears, near-panic attack......& i began to enjoy the bird's eye view, as i waved out to the others following suit...& so it lasted for about 5 mins while we edged closer to base camp & landed with a soft thud onto the grass......BLISS!

the instructors certainly added to the excitement with their gimmics...one was actually caught readin *skydiving for dummies* while mine whispered in my ear that he was an innocent bystander who was pushed into the flight alongwith the rest of us....

on the whole - a thoroughly exciting xperience & somethin i vudnt mind trying out again (even tho it kinda drained my bank balance)

Nice write up..Wish I was as adventurous as you are. The demon drop in six flags is as far as I can go :). The instructors' reactions made me laugh ! Write more..
